Relaxing!

I has been a whirlwind of events these past two weeks.  It was a great joy to wake this morning and realize I had all day to simply relax and recharge.  The best of that kind of day means crafting and munching leftovers.  Add to this a sweet envelope from Simon Says Stamp with lots of brand new things that arrived in yesterday's mail!!

Kristina Werner has a delightful video here making this adorable card "Big Mouths" from Art Impressions. I had to make it for my friend's July birthday...I have totally CASED her card. Pull tabs can be tricky for me, but now that I have gone through with her excellent directions I should be able to do another with my own design.  I used my new Simon Says Circle Sayings as Kristina did.

Next up was the new Lawn Fawn Treat Yourself set -stamps and coordinating die cuts.  I love these!!

Thinking of You border die also from Lawn Fawn was next.  I cut it from Topiary card stock, and then again from two pieces of cardstock 'pink lemonade' I had in my stash...and the tab sys it's also Lawn Fawn.  Then I embedded the green sentiment. It is a bit plain...the paper is busy though...I may try a bright white daisy in the top right corner.

Great day!!

Awesome!

The Atlantic Hearts Sketch 113 this week provides a perfect opportunity to use some of my Close To My Heart products: sentiment came from You're the Bomb (a limited Operation Smile set); Colonial White and Flaxen card stock; Sunset and Indian Corn inks; patterned paper from the Hopscotch collection; and Flaxen twine.  I also used a small stitched circle die cut from Simon Says Stamp! which is part of a fabulous set called Bundle of Stitched Shapes.  It includes a banner, tag, circle, heart, star, rectangle and straight border!
I used foam tape behind the three patterned panels and the circle. I used the small punch on the crop-o-dile and pulled the twine through before tying in a bow.  The ends were fastened on each side with Glue Dots.

Little Girl

This will by my youngest son's first Father's Day.  His little Hayden is 5 months old, and so sweet!
Like her Dad, she was born calm and happy.

A few weeks ago CAS-ology had a 'vintage' week....I searched around and found a lot of fabulous vintage images on digital sites and printed them off.  Life got busy and they have been on my craft table ever since...yesterday I colored, and today made this card for my son.  And wow!! CAS-ology this week is 'kids,' so it all works out.  Crafty life is good. :-)

My printer can't handle more than 65# card stock, so I backed the panel with a piece of craft foam before rounding and distressing edges and adhered it to a top folding card base 120#.  The image was colored with Prisma pencils.  I used a Close To My Heart stamp for the word bubble around a computer generated sentiment.  Acrylic stamps are wonderful - they an be stretched and reshaped on the block- which was needed to have this fit.

As I was cropping the picture, I felt something was wrong....the voice of my CAS guru, Susan Raihala said, "Don't let little people or critters float in space!"  So I got my fine point journal pen and 'grounded' her.  Thanks, guru!

A tiny puffy glitter heart and some twine were all embellishments needed.  The darling little girl stays the focus.  Can't wait to see her Sunday ♥

Father's Day

More of my CTMH Typed Note set.  Really like the vintage look and the many sentiments to 'type' on the blank page. And, I admit to enjoying fussing cutting. Yes....sometimes it is relaxing like coloring can be.  I added a little mustache puffy sticker and some sequins.

Happy Anniversary

Love this new sketch!

At CAS(E)this Sketch  there are some gorgeous cards as inspiration this week.
My card uses several images from Papertrey's  "Doodlie-Do" set, and a sentiment from Close To My Heart, "Happy to be Friends" set stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. The front panel was cut with the rectangle from Simon Says "Bundle of Stitched Shapes" die, and mounted on foam.

Just Chillin'

Summer is fast approaching.  The season has begun on Cape Cod, and I read my brother and
sister-n-law Facebook posts with envy.  It's such a beautiful place!  I enjoy creating cards to send them with beach themes.  They spend weekend days under their umbrellas by the sparkling Atlantic.

This card, for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge 140 (Tan, White + One other color) uses Champagne and Lagoon Close To My Heart card stock and inks, a CTMH stamp set Just Chillin', and embossing folder Beach Waves from Darice, and sequins from Art Minds. The sentiment was heat embossed.

Diggin' My Garden

It has been an adventure to build planter boxes (so glad my Dad gave me drills and showed me how to use tools♥) and to fill them up with dirt and plants!  That is my inspiration for the
CAS(E)this Sketch #125.

I used a stamp set from Impress and Ranger Distress Inks.  I must confess that my first attempt looked odd...took me a while to realize I had stamped the radishes upside down.

TSSC 364

Rain arrived and landscaping projects are on hold.  So happy to be in my craft room!
And I found a new challenge blog - well, new to me. Technostamper has a sketch just right to get me going again and to use my new set from Close To My Heart.  I made two cards - the set comes with quite a few sentiments to fit on the 'paper.'
